One of the goals of The Daily Reader is to make sure we don’t feel like lone rangers in our Bible reading. It’s encouraging to know that others are following the same plan. So it’s time for some more testimonies…
I was encouraged at home group on Tuesday to hear a couple of different people referring to “today’s reading” in the course of the discussion. I know others at Oakhall are following the plan (see the forthcoming February sheet for another testimony or two from Oakhallers!)
It’s also fun to know that others are joining us from all over, either through the website or having visited the church recently. (It’s fun to click on the map on the right hand side of the site to see where people are who have come to this site recently.) Geri (USA) is reading with her two boys (aged 9 & 12) and is seeing things in Genesis she hasn’t noticed before. When Geri left a comment they were a few days behind but enjoying it. Cole (USA) emailed me and mentioned they are one day ahead (that day will come in handy sometime!) Neil (UK) is listening at the same time as he reads to help stay focused and is motivated by the comments from around the world on this site. Margy (USA) gives testimony after years of read throughs, “I have read through my precious Bible for many years. I have been helped in so many ways.” Just this morning I heard of a Christian in prison (UK) who is following the plan too. What an encouragement for us all!
So let’s press on. Catch up. Get ahead. Whatever. Let’s enjoy God’s Word . . . together. And why not pray for someone you know who is following the plan – either at church, or someone I’ve mentioned above?

I agree with your foundations and brick-wall approach to Bible study. I also use the same model and have found it very helpful. Last July I started aiming to read through the Bible every 5/6 months and I am about to finish it for the 2nd time. It is a great way to get a better understanding of the general picture (amongst other things) and have been grealy blessed by it. I have also been studying lately the book of Joshua, verse by verse and this too (my brick walling) has been a great blessing. Thanks for your encouragement and input on this sort of point as well.
